Gives Me Hope
I was serving in Iraq in 2009.
An explosion went off, and I was severely injured by flying scrap metal.
An Iraqi soldier rushed over to me and carried me to safety.
He looked at me and said “You return home safe to that family of yours.” He saw I was wearing a wedding ring.
That man saved my life. GMH.
Tonight
I hung out with people who made me forget for a while. Forget about all of the shit going on in my life. We just laughed and talked and played board games. I need more people like that in my life.
